Wallace Community College Dothan is a public, two-year institution in the Alabama Community College System (ACCS) under the governance of the ACCS Board of Trustees.
The Wallace Community College Foundation (WCCF) and the Wallace Community College Sparks Campus Foundation (WCCSF) are private, non-profit organizations incorporated under a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status. The foundations were established to seek and secure resources beyond state and local revenues for the purpose of supporting educational scholarships, programs, and other needs of the college. Gifts to the foundation support and build educational opportunities for individuals in the communities it serves.
- Annual Scholarship Gifts: Named scholarships may be established at the desired dollar amount designated by the donor. Most named scholarships are designated at the $500, $750, or $1,000 amounts to cover tuition, fees, and/or books. Scholarships named for/by individuals begin with a minimum annual contribution of $500.
- Endowments: An endowed scholarship allows an individual/business to establish a scholarship that will last in perpetuity. The corpus of the endowment is secure and only the interest is used to make the scholarship award. Endowed scholarships assist students in in their pursuit of education through scholarship opportunities.
- Planned Giving: A planned gift is a contribution that is made in lifetime or at death as part of a donor’s overall financial and/or estate planning. These include gifts of equity, life insurance, real estate, personal property, or cash.
- Memorials and Honorariums: Each year the foundation receives donations given in memory or honor of individuals. The foundation recognizes these gifts by sending a memorial or honorarium note to the family of the person being remembered or honored.
