“I am currently working a part time job and going to school - which can be difficult at times. This scholarship will help lift a weight off of my shoulders, and it will help me to achieve my degree goals.”
Sheldon Grace
Headland, AL General Studies “I was unsure of how I was going to afford another semester at Wallace without going through student loan debt. I work multiple shifts to try and make enough to cover tuition for my spring semester, but it was just not enough. This scholarship allowed me to attend Wallace with zero student loan debt. I want to obtain a degree in fisheries and do conservation work after the completion of my education.”
Alyshia Smith
Enterprise, AL Associate Degree Nursing “I was so excited to receive this award. I am so grateful. We are a family of seven and we have five growing sons that require a lot financially. This scholarship will help me to continue my education to pursue my dream of becoming a nurse without putting any extra financial burden on the family. I am a first-generation college student and so very thankful. Also, raising our boys is a financial hardship as they require a lot and a one income family is a struggle sometimes. I am so very grateful for this scholarship and the help that it will provide for my family.”
Jakerion Ware
Ozark, AL General Studies “When I first received the news that I was getting the scholarship, I told my mother and we thanked God for this blessing. This scholarship was a huge help because I was just relying on financial aid to pay for my school without knowing how much books and tuitions would cost. I felt so thankful, happy, excited, and hopeful for receiving this scholarship to help pursue my education. Completing my degree puts value to my name and hope for other people in my community to see that anything is possible. Earning my degree shows off the hard work and dedication I have put into this achievement.”
Sheniyah Howard
Headland, AL General Studies “After realizing I received the scholarship, I was so happy because now, I have help with paying for my books and supplies for class. It took the pressure and strain off of my mom, because she is a single mother raising our family. It is important for me to complete a degree, because I want to become a Traveling Nurse. I will also be the first person in my family to graduate from college. Obtaining a degree from Wallace will be one of my greatest accomplishments!”
Molly Morris
Dothan, AL Liberal Arts “After receiving notice of my scholarship award, I had a stress taken off my shoulders knowing that paying for my classes would be one less financial responsibility to worry about. Due to COVID, I lost my job and had to start over. Receiving this scholarship meant more to me then you can ever know. Upon graduation, I plan on transferring to Troy and pursing my bachelor’s degree in social work. After completion of my bachelors, I want to work at DHR with the foster care system. I am a former foster care child myself and working with children in similar situations has always been my dream.”
