Licensed Practical Nursing “My parents never finished college and struggled every day to raise two kids while working several jobs. I work part-time at Publix to help pay for my college expenses. This scholarship has lifted a great stress from my shoulders and allowed me to focus on studying and getting good grades. My goal is to finish my degree so I do not have to worry about finances and have the same struggles of my parents. While working at Publix, I have also volunteered through them to help with the Food Bank and United Way.”

General Studies “Currently, I am living with my mother and younger brother. This award was a great help in covering my tuition and book expenses. By receiving this scholarship, I am able to save money to help me pursue further education. My college degree is very important, because I feel it is necessary for me to finish in order to pursue my dream job. I do not want to settle for any job that will just "cover my bills" and have aspirations for my career that a college degree will help me reach. ”
